The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) has published its new Advanced Carpentry: Frame and Finish curriculum.

As part of the newly structured 6th edition of NCCER’s carpentry program, the Advanced Carpentry title follows General Carpentry along one branch of the two-pronged carpentry course path. The alternative branch for advanced training, Form Carpentry, is currently in development.

Frame and Finish topics covered in the curriculum include the building process, steel framing, and installations of thermal and moisture protection, drywall, doors, ceilings, stairs, roofing, and interior and exterior trims and finishes in residential and commercial construction.
