News Brief: NCCER Provides Free Access to HammerMath® for High Schools

05/09/2024 News Brief

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) has partnered with If I Had A Hammer, Inc. to offer free access to HammerMath® for NCCER-accredited high schools.

HammerMath is an innovative, hands-on approach to teaching fractions and measurements. It helps students see and comprehend math in a different way and provides tools and activities that help students stay engaged.

HammerMath’s effectiveness has been recognized by The New York Times, and in a study by The University of Kentucky that found that students going through HammerMath scored in the 99th percentile in math gains nationally on the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) test.

Through this partnership, all NCCER high schools can access the tools and activities on the HammerMath platform free of charge. The lessons can be easily integrated with NCCER’s Core Introduction to Construction Math and Introduction to Construction Drawings modules, or it can be taught separately.
